Alan Beddingfield, aka Durtybeats, is Pittsburgh's only "booty house" DJ. His voyage began in late 1995 as a bedroom DJ and house party regular. He began spinning breaks and trance, quickly moving on to house. He perfected his skills as DJ Steel until March of 1999 when he released his first mix tape "Spintropolis I" under the name Boytronic. At the time of this release he is signed with Booty Basics as well as his own company, Ruffbass MGT. Two months after his mixtape release, he co-threw an official after party to Evoultion called "Big Bang". At that party he shared the decks with Da MoFo to name one. He continued spinning at house parties up until he met DJ Caram who got him some more noticible gigs. Then, the 19 year old DJ moved on to spinning intellegent breaks and garage house. He moved to Chicago for a year where he hung out with Paul Johnson and tagged with Rhemalogix spinning NRG trance and progressive house. He bought most records with guidance from Bam Bam, Bad Boy Bill, Alex Peace and Breakdown B at SUPERDANCE records in Chicago. Now back in Pittsburgh at the age of 25, Durtybeats has been ripping it up at party's spinning anything and everything. He now spins primarily Booty House and Chicago house. he also spins breaks, club, happy hardcore and hip-hop. He throws events his last being Sun Is Shining and Club Envoke. Being a DJ is what he wants to persue, and he's not sure how long he'll continue throwing parties. He's thinking about dedicating all of his time and money into spinning. Durtybeats CD release, "Rubber Meets Road" as been distributed worldwide, as with "Freak N The Morning, Freak N The Evening". His newest release just came out this Spring titled, "Infatuate vol. 1" available now at www.lulu.com/handoutinc. It's best said by Durtybeats himself, "My only goal as a DJ is to rock the floor so hard that when the kids can't dance anymore they look at me, hear the music, and keep dancing anyway! So what does the future hold for Durtybeats? "It can only get better from here!".
